▣ TYPE: Research / Report
▨ CLIENT: Future Observatory (the Design Museum in partnership with AHRC)
▦ METHODOLOGY: Mapping / Land analysis / Interviews / Literature review
▥ COLLABORATORS: Beyond Words
As Design Ecosystem Fellows of the Future Observatory, Material Cultures investigated the opportunities for private woodland owners in England to develop resilient treescapes and regenerative land management practices to repair England's degraded landscapes. The project sought to communicate the opportunities a transition to varied treescapes would offer a sustainable construction industry through the supply of diverse, low embodied carbon construction materials.
Research from the Design Ecosystem Fellowship and the SOM Foundation funded Constructive Land project was collated together into the Mosaic Landscape report.
